The overall reason a Commercial Organisation* would REGISTER with the IRCM is to protect the coaching and mentoring industry consumer, raise consumer confidence in the coaching and mentoring industry by supporting the coaching and mentoring industry in its endeavour to work as a single industry incorporating the industry recognised Codes of Conduct in their products/services, and participate in the definition of the industry future; while providing an Ombudsman Service for all consumers.
It is to build trust, confidence, and excellence in the coaching or mentoring industry; and is one of credibility.
* A Commercial Organisation is any organisation that provides products and/or services to the coaching and/or mentoring industry.

Each non-industry related Commercial Organisation that REGISTERS with the IRCM:
- demonstrates their commitment to ‘employing’ the right quality of coaches and/or mentors to work within their organisation.
- demonstrates their commitment to their ‘clients’ and their consumer protection.
- demonstrates their commitment to the transparency of the industry.
- demonstrates their commitment to raising the bar in the industry as a whole.
- agrees to abide by the standards, ethics, core competencies, and disciplinary procedures of their own industry.
- agrees to recognise their own industry Ombudsman Service.
- agrees that the Coaches and/or Mentors employed by them will abide by:
- Coaching and Mentoring Codes of Standards and Ethics,
- Coaching and Mentoring Industry Core Competencies,
- Disciplinary Procedures, and
- recognise the Ombudsman Service for consumers.

Each supporting Commercial Organisation (category 1 type) that REGISTERS with the IRCM:
- demonstrates their commitment to providing the right level of support
- demonstrates their commitment to ‘supporting’ the right quality of coaches and/or mentors.
- demonstrates their commitment to their consumers and their consumer protection.
- demonstrates their commitment to the transparency of the industry.
- demonstrates their commitment to raising the bar in the industry as a whole.
- agrees to abide by the standards, ethics, core competencies, and disciplinary procedures of their own industry.
- agrees to recognise their own industry Ombudsman Service.
- agrees that the Coaches and/or Mentors and coaching and mentoring industry organisations supported by them will recognise, and where applicable abide by the:
- Coaching and Mentoring Codes of Standards and Ethics,
- Coaching and Mentoring Industry Core Competencies,
- Disciplinary Procedures, and
- recognise the Ombudsman Service for consumers.

Each supporting Commercial Organisation (category 2 type) that REGISTERS with the IRCM:
- demonstrates their commitment to providing the right level of support.
- demonstrates their commitment to their consumers and their consumer protection.
- demonstrates their commitment to the transparency of its industry and the coaching and mentoring industry.
- demonstrates their commitment to raising the bar in its industry and the coaching and mentoring industry as a whole.
- agrees to abide by the standards, ethics, core competencies, and disciplinary procedures of their own industry.
- agrees to recognise their own industry Ombudsman Service.
- agrees that the Coaches and/or Mentors and coaching and mentoring industry organisations that it provides a service to will be made aware of the coaching and mentoring:
- Coaching and Mentoring Codes of Standards and Ethics,
- Coaching and Mentoring Industry Core Competencies,
- Disciplinary Procedures, and
- recognise the Ombudsman Service for consumers.

The overall reason a Commercial Organisation would gain ACCREDITATION within the coaching and mentoring industry, with the IRCM is to demonstrate their commitment to working within a single international Coaching and Mentoring industry.
By gaining ACCREDITATION from the IRCM, each Commercial Organisation:
- is currently REGISTERED with the IRCM CIC.
- demonstrates their inclusion in the industry by allowing their process, policies, and procedures to be subject to an in-depth verification and audit.
- demonstrates a transparency and openness in allowing their process, policies, and procedures to be subject to an in-depth verification and audit.
- may select to have input into the future development of the coaching and mentoring industry.
- may select to have a closer working relationship with the IRCM CIC.
- may select to participate in additional areas such as research, industry resources, white paper creation, books, newsletters, etc.
