Being Registered with the IRCM brings you credibility in the coaching and mentoring industry.

 The credibility comes from:

  • agreeing to work within a single Code of Conduct (standards, ethics, and competencies) in the industry.
  • agreeing to include this single Code of Conduct (standards, ethics, and competencies) in the education/training materials.
  • participating in the discussions relating to the industry and the on-going definition of its future.

Recognition of your professionalism with your adherence to and inclusion of coaching and mentoring standards, ethics, and competencies.

Being Registered with the IRCM demonstrates your commitment to providing excellence in the coaching and mentoring industry, by:

  • agreeing to work within a single Code of Conduct (standards, ethics, and competencies) in the industry.
  • agreeing to include this single Code of Conduct (standards, ethics, and competencies) in the education/training materials.
  • positively influencing the coaching and/or mentoring industry by actively participating in the creation of the future of the industry.

Your Formal Education Body or Commercial Training Organisation (including Coaches and Mentors who provide training) will be given a detailed Directory entry which you can use to raise your own profile.

Take the opportunity to positively influence the coaching and/or mentoring industry by actively participating in the creation of the future of the industry.

Being actively involved in the coaching and mentoring industry gives you a competitive advantage.

As a representative of the Coaching and Mentoring Industry, each REGISTERED Coach, Mentor, Formal Education Body/Commercial Training Organisation, Professional Body, or (non-industry) Commercial Organisation will be provided with the opportunity to involve themselves with the IRCM to protect the industry’s Consumers through active participation in driving the industry forward and determining the industry’s future.

Although your Formal Education Body/Commercial Training Organisation may be invited to represent the coaching and/or mentoring industry as a Thought Leader or as part of the Industry Direction advisory committee, you will be included in the regular requests for feedback, input, and survey responses.

Being Registered with the IRCM demonstrates your commitment to building trust and confidence in the coaching and/or mentoring industry, by:

  • agreeing to work within a single Code of Conduct (standards, ethics, and competencies) in the industry.
  • agreeing to include this single Code of Conduct (standards, ethics, and competencies) in the education/training materials.
  • participating in the discussions relating to the industry and the on-going definition of its future.
  • helping consumers of the coaching and mentoring industry to make better-informed decisions.
  • bringing this industry together for the good of the Consumer.
  • demonstrating your commitment to the transparency and openness of this industry.
  • bringing the industry together to work as a single industry.
  • raising the bar in the industry as a whole.

Each REGISTERED Coach, Mentor, Formal Education Body/Commercial Training Organisation, Professional Body, or Commercial Organisation has the opportunity to promote its products and/or services through Banner Ads on the IRCM's website and in selective IRCM publications.

Participate in the industry and take this opportunity to submit your own articles and ideas on all aspects of the coaching and mentoring industry.

For example:

  • Business ideas, thoughts, and/or suggestions.
  • Topics of interest within the coaching and/or mentoring industry.
  • Consumer experiences - without sharing confidential information.
  • Coaching tips, tools, techniques.
  • Mentoring tips, tools, techniques. 

Being Registered with the IRCM demonstrates your recognition of the Ombudsman Service for your Consumers (past, present, and future students).

Each Formal Education Body/Commercial Training Organisation Registered with the IRCM will be given the IRCM Toolkit to utilise in promoting their own coaching and/or mentoring business.

Formal Education

Registering with the IRCM demonstrates your credibility in the coaching and/or mentoring industry.

IRCM Registered Formal Education Bodies demonstrate your competence in the coaching and/or mentoring industry
by including the industry Core Competencies, Standards, and Ethics in your courses/workshops.

IRCM Registered Commercial Training Organisations demonstrate your competence in the coaching and/or mentoring industry
by gaining your accreditation/credential with a Professional Body that is Registered with or Accredited by the IRCM.

Formal Education Bodies
(Universities, Colleges, Schools)

As defined in the industry Terminology and Definitions, qualification is awarded to each student (Coach and/or Mentor) through the successful achievement of their training on a course from a Formal Education Body, Commercial Training Organisation, or Coach/Mentor who provides training.

Formal Education Body authorised (accredited/credentialed) by the countries' Government Education Department has their training (course creator, trainers, coaches, mentors, examiners) approved. 

As defined in the industry Terminology and Definitions, experience is simply professional knowledge and skill, acquired by professional practice.

Formal Education Bodies authorised (accredited/credentialed) by the countries' Government Education Department has demonstrated their experience in training and issuing qualifications. 

As defined in the industry Terminology and Definitions, competence is defined as each Formal Education Body that is authorised (accredited/credentialed) by their countries' Government Education Department.

Commercial Training Organisations
(including Coaches/Mentors who provide training)

As defined in the industry Terminology and Definitions, qualification is awarded to each student (Coach and/or Mentor) through the successful achievement of their training on a course from a Formal Education Body, Commercial Training Organisation, or Coach/Mentor who provides training.

Commercial Training Organisations (including Coaches/Mentors who provide training) accredited/credentialed with a Professional Body Recognised by or Registered with or Accredited by the IRCM have their training material and faculty (course creator, trainers, coaches, mentors, examiners) externally and independently verified.  Therefore, the qualifications issued by a Commercial Training Organisation have been confirmed in line with the standards and competencies determined by the Professional Body.

The IRCM acknowledges that each Professional Body Recognised by or Registered with or Accredited by the IRCM has its own policies, procedures, and processes.  The IRCM can only determine the quality of the accreditation policies, procedures, and processes, for those Professional Bodies that gain Accreditation with the IRCM.

As defined in the industry Terminology and Definitions, experience is simply professional knowledge and skill, acquired by professional practice.

Each Professional Body Recognised by or Registered with or Accredited by the IRCM verifies the experience of each Commercial Training Organisation (including Coaches/Mentors who provide training).

Each Professional Body has its own policies, procedures, and processes.  The IRCM can only determine the quality of the accreditation policies, procedures, and processes for those Professional Bodies that gain Accreditation with the IRCM.

As defined in the industry Terminology and Definitions, competence is defined as each Commercial Training Organisation that is Registered with the IRCM and accredited/credentialed by one or more Professional Bodies that is Recognised by or Registered with or Accredited by the IRCM.
